MOSCOW, Oct 6 (PRIME) -- Iran expects signing of several oil and gas contracts with Russia in the next six months, Iranian Deputy Petroleum Minister Ahmad Asad-Zadeh told PRIME on Thursday.
In July, Iranian newswire Tasnim reported that Russian gas giant Gazprom and National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) have signed a U.S. $40 billion oil cooperation memorandum.
“During the latest negotiations between Russia and Iran we achieved great progress in implementation of the memorandum with Gazprom. I hope that we will be able to sign several deals in the next six months,” he said.
The current market condition and cooperation with the OPEC+ alliance should drive the relations between Iran and Russia in the oil, gas, and petrochemical spheres closer, he said.
